Happy Wednesday, backers. We are officially over a week into the campaign, and so close to hitting $700K! Let's keep it going!
We revealed our planned Boss Monster add-ons in yesterday's update and started unveiling our new stretch goals. You all are in luck because we unlocked 2 Slot Machine Advanced Trap Room cards for the Big Box Exclusive Card Set!
In case you haven't noticed yet, all of our duplicate cards have slightly different artwork! We noted this during the live playthrough on Monday with the No-clip Hack card!
We also officially unlocked our Instagram social stretch goal! This unlocks two Spell cards for the Kickstarter Pack. Pop Quiz: What Brotherwise games are "Disaster" and "Firebolt" inspired by?
Our next stretch goal is pretty fun! We are holding a poll over on BGG to see which classic Cleric boss you want to add to the Super Boss Monster Kickstarter Pack line-up! Click on the image below to cast your vote.
FAQ Regarding Solo Mode
We wanted to use this update to answer some recent questions about the Solo Mode we've seen pop up throughout this campaign, so let's get into it!
Q: Can I use my older Boss Monster games to play Solo? A: Yes you can, but you will also need the Town Board from Super Boss Monster to play solo.
Q: How does luring work in Solo Mode? A: There is a special "Solo Mode" side of the Town Board. In the top row, you will notice Treasure Symbols with a number located next to them. When a hero lands in that spot, your dungeon will lure it if it has that number of treasure icons associated with that hero. For example, if that Fighter is in the #3 spot, your dungeon will need 3 or more swords to lure it!
Q: How difficult is Solo Mode? A: For the win condition, it's a bit of a beat-your-own-high-score kind of game, but the perfect score is 36. Despite our Development Lead designing solo mode and being one of the designers on the whole game, he has only gotten a perfect score once. Then, if you master basic solo mode, there's also a challenge mode that's much, much harder!
Q: What is the "Challenge Mode"? A: Challenge mode has one minor rule change to set apart the true Boss Monsters from the miniboss: The first hero in town requires two treasures to lure instead of one, the next requires three, and so forth. It may seem minor, but it turns solo mode into a bloody challenge to keep your head above water. Good luck to any who try to conquer it and become the True Boss Monster.
Let us know if you have any more questions about solo mode in the comments below, and we will make sure to reply to them! Thanks again for another great day in this campaign...let's keep rocking it!
